I’m Alison, a long-time friend of Anna’s. We met over fifteen years ago when our sons started at the San Francisco Waldorf School — and before long, my boys and I moved in with Anna and her sons in the city. For a few years we shared a home, mostly in harmony, though four boys playing basketball in the living room did little to endear us to the neighbors.

We’ve been through a great deal together, and have remained close friends and collaborators ever since.

I’m an illustrator, artist, doula, and mother — and recently, a grandmother to little Althea, who has just turned one. My life has been wonderfully peripatetic, moving between Hong Kong, England, Wales, and California. After finishing school in Hong Kong, I returned to the UK to study fine art illustration at Harrow College of Art in London, and I’ve worked as a freelance editorial illustrator ever since, with clients in Hong Kong, London, Oxford, and San Francisco. Alongside that, I show my own paintings and printmaking in solo and group exhibitions.
